Contact Elements
This checklist serves as a guide to verify the authenticity of Teknic Electric contact elements and detect potential counterfeits. It applies to S… series of contact elements. (S1, S2, S3, S4, S1S, S2S, ES1 & ES2).
Permanent Laser Marking (Indelible)
Laser marking is used to prevent duplication and to provide a distinct identity to our contact elements. It is an indelible and permanent marking method that requires no additional consumables, thereby reducing chemical use and improving product recyclability. Laser marking also prevents any tampering or fading of the product markings over time.

Complete Date Code
A complete date code is laser-marked on the bottom right corner of the contact element and indicates the complete date of product manufacturing. In the example above, the code ’16/04/2025′ signifies that the contact element was manufactured on Wednesday, 16 April 2025.
Complete Part Number
In addition to the complete date code, a complete part number is also marked on the contact element. For example, the code “S1” denotes the product type of the contact element, which in this case is Normally Open (NO).
Certifications
The contact elements also include the mark of authentication in the form of certification marks.
Quality
A visual inspection reveals the clear difference between our products and counterfeit versions. The counterfeit items are typically poorly finished and lack quality.
Customer Order Number
The product’s packaging box includes a label with the customer’s order number for precise and reliable product identification.
Testing
A reliable test method is to apply an industrial solvent to the markings. Our product markings will resist the solvent due to the permanent laser marking method, whereas those on counterfeit products will be removed upon exposure.
